New Porsche 911 GT3 Spied

Looks like there’s a new Porsche 911 GT3 on the way, and these spy pictures from Autoexpress give our first look at the most extreme 991 yet ahead of its early 2013 release.

Porsche has fitted a large rear wing and front spoiler, while twin centrally mounted exhausts further help to differentiate the GT3 from a standard 911.

The big differences will be to performance, and Porsche will be shedding weight and increasing power. A standard 991 Carrera S produces 394bhp, but in the GT3 power will be boosted to over 450bhp from the 3.8-litre engine.

Weight savings over a standard 911 are expected to be around 40kgs, with a stripped out interior as well as lightweight wheels and body panels.

Reports suggest that Porsche will not offer a PDK gearbox with the 991 GT3, so a six-speed manual will be the only option.

Expect the 911 GT3 to cost just under £100,000 when it goes on sale in 2013.
